Aloo Tuk/ Spicy Potato Chips

I was eyeing this recipe ever since I saw it on Vaishali's space and then Valli made it as well. Glad that I picked up the sindhi cuisine as my theme this week. We had this for lunch this afternoon. This is simple and very tasty side dish. A must try for potato lovers.

Ingredients
4-5 potatoes
1 tspn red chilli powder
1 tspn dry mango powder
1 tspn coriander cumin seeds powder
1 tspn salt
a pinch each of garam masala and turmeric powder
Oil to deep fry
Method
1) Chop the potatoes in thick rings - 1 inch in thickness. Create a criss cross pattern using a sharp knife. Take care not to cut through.
2) Mix all the dry powders and set aside
3) In a deep frying pan, heat the oil.
4) On low-medium flame, deep fry the potatoes
5) Remove them and let them cool down a bit.
6) Using the back of a spatula or hands press the potatoes to flatten them a bit.
7) Now fry them again on high flame until they are crisp on the outside
8) Sprinkle the dry masala mixture and serve hot
