No innovation out here but simple changes to the process making the age old Meri Maggi can give beautiful results. It turns from a basic predictable tasting dish into something magical...
Ingredients
1 packet of instant noodles
1 onion finely chopped
1 tomato finely chopped
1 cup mixed vegetables (optional)
2 tbsp grated cheese (optional)
salt to taste
1 tbsp tomato ketchup
1 tspn oil/ ghee
Method
1) In a large wok, heat the oil. Add the chopped onions. Saute them till they are translucent.
2) Add the tomatoes, masala (from the packet , else of your choice). Continue sauteing
3) Add the vegetables and half of the cheese at this stage and saute till they are tender
4) Add 2 cups of water and let it come to a running boil.
5) Add the noodles to the boiling water
6) Stir continuously for about 2-3 min until the noodles are cooked.
Serve hot with more cheese sprinkled on the top.
I do not make this variation often but at times when the response to my "Maggi for snacks?: comes across as a lazily answered well ok....(in marathi - chaalel) which really means..if you have nothing else to feed then I will manage with maggi.
You can make umpteen number of changes to this dish , like adding, eggs, veggies, cheese, soya sauce, peanuts, mixed nuts, paneer etc.
